Our Pyotr Pavlovich Ershov Foundation has been working on a project for the past two years to publish an English translation of the fairy tale "The Little Humpbacked Horse" with unique illustrations — photographs of quilts based on Ershov's tale, which were showcased at the exhibition "A Whale of a Tale Told in Quilts from Around the World" in 2016–2017 at the San Francisco Main Library.

Initially, we planned to release the book to coincide with the 190th anniversary of the tale, celebrated in 2024. However, due to a lack of funding, the project had to be temporarily put on hold. This year, 2025, marks the 210th anniversary of the author, Pyotr Pavlovich Ershov, and we sincerely hope to bring our project to life in this commemorative year.

At the moment, we are working purely on passion and dedication. A designer has joined our initiative to work on the general layout of the book, also on a volunteer basis. We hope that the main project will be ready soon, but to fully implement it, we need approximately $15,000.

Our goal is to publish the book in a limited edition but in a worthy and high-quality format, printing it here in the USA.
